Introducing BZY Design: human-crafted design blended with the power of AI
After many months of work and exploration, I’m excited to provide a peek into my latest venture, BZY Design, a digital design studio that marries the artistry of human-crafted design with the power of AI.
BZY Design is the culmination of over a decade of experience working in product, marketing, and design with companies of all sizes, including Fortune 500s, VC-backed tech startups, and small businesses, while living in cities across the globe such as San Francisco, Toronto, and Sydney.
I feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with exceptional people throughout my life, learning from them while forming deep connections and friendships. With BZY Design, this exploration and learning will continue as I partner with new (and old) friends and companies, and take a fresh approach to digital design-as-a-service in this fast-moving world of AI and remote work.
The Vision
The vision for BZY Design is very simple:
Do great work, live a great life.
I’ve always been a firm believer in work hard, play hard, and finding balance in life. Now with the rise of AI and remote work, there has never been a more opportune time to do this.
The following 3 principles lay out specifically how I’m tackling this.
- Human-Crafted Design, Amplified by AI
I believe in actively embracing AI and the latest technology, but always grounding it in the human experience. We’re living in a time of enormous opportunity with AI and I want to help people and businesses take advantage of this step change in how we live and do work. That said, it is critical to maintain a strong connection to the human spirit and creativity. It’s not about swapping out humans for AI, but rather using AI as a tool to supercharge human-crafted design in new, and creative ways.
2. Global Remote Workflow
I believe in the continuing potential of a global remote workflow. In our hyper-connected world today, we have the incredible opportunity to work from just about anywhere. This flexibility doesn’t just add colour to our personal lives, letting us soak up diverse cultures and experiences, but it also fuels a more efficient and creative work environment. I believe strongly in supporting people to break free from stationary living to the personal and professional opportunities that a remote or nomadic lifestyle can bring, whether short or long-term.
3. Love the People & the Work
I believe in the power of a team that shares a common vision, backs each other up, and is fired up about the work they do. It’s not just about delivering exceptional work, but also about crafting an environment where everyone feels appreciated and fulfilled. It’s about recognizing that when people are passionate about what they do, and who they do it with, they do their best work.
The Work
Initially, we’re providing the following specific services. As we progress, we’ll fine-tune and expand products and services offered.
- Soup-to-Nuts Website: We create kick-ass websites that look great and deliver. Includes design, copy, and development. Hosted on Webflow.
- Brand Book: We’ll craft your brand, including exploration, design and development of logo, icons, typography. Wrapped up in a beautiful brand book on Figma.
- UX Blueprint: Complete UX for web or mobile app, including research, user journeys, screen design and interaction. Provided via Figma.
- AI Design Workshop: We spend every day using and thinking about the latest tools in AI design. We provide training workshop sessions for your company or team. Provided via video meeting.

The Team
I work directly on every project we take on and provide various levels of involvement including end-to-end completion myself, or managing a team of talented designers and developers to deliver the project. Over the years, I’ve had the good fortune of working with many exceptionally talented people that can be brought into projects, depending on scope.
