So many tools are coming and going, so I’m going to regularly update on the top tools that I use, along with new ones on the horizon that I’m playing with.

Let’s dive in!

1. Figma

My go-to tool for nearly everything from ideation, concepts and final designs. This includes websites, logos, presentations, brand style guides, and more. I am happy the Adobe acquisition didn’t go through, so this team can keep building!

2. Webflow & Framer (tie)

Both of these tools are powerhouses when it comes to no-code web development. Their intuitive interfaces are very similar to Figma, making it easy to transfer designs over or even do all designs within these platforms.

4. ChatGPT

*[Option] + [Space]** has become one of my new favorite shortcuts. I use it constantly throughout my day to help me with any task I’m stuck on. Plus, it is invaluable for expanding and refining copy for websites and presentations alike. If you haven’t used **[Option] + [Space]** yet, download the ChatGPT desktop app and check it out!

5. Relume

An incredible, fast-growing library of components for Figma and Webflow that help me build at blazing-fast speed. Plus, they have a kickass sitemap and wireframe builder.

6. Midjourney

Still the top tool for AI image generation. I use it for backgrounds, feature images, people, landscapes, and more. The web app is now available to anyone who has generated at least 1000 images on Discord, and it is much better.

7. Runway

Runway is the easiest way to bring the images I generate in Midjourney to life. Keenly awaiting public release of OpenAI’s Sora to see how it stacks up.

8. Pitch

A new addition to the arsenal, this is a big upgrade from PowerPoint and Google Slides, with better design tools, easy sharing, plus some slick analytics. Pitch/Sales decks go hand-in-hand with websites, and Pitch is a great way to pair them up.

9. tldraw

Also a new addition, this is my favorite way to sketch and share ideas with others quickly. Much simpler and more user-friendly than Figma, plus they are doing some really interesting AI “sketch to make real” features. Watch this space.

10. Spline

Spline is dramatically lowering the barrier to entry to 3D Design, that I continue to tinker with.

***Plus some honorable mentions for my top administration tools***

Contra

Contra is one of the top contractor marketplaces and workflow platforms to watch. They stand out amongst the Upworks and Fiverrs of the world to create a premium contractor marketplace. Not only that, but they have built-in proposals, signatures, and invoicing. The team is crushing it, and I look forward to being along for the ride.

Loom

This app is the ultimate meeting killer. Go async. Bummed it got acquired by Atlassian, but happy for the team.

Trello

Speaking of Atlassian purchases, Trello has long been my favorite task management app, primarily for its simplicity and easy-to-understand UI.
